Spring has finally sprung and I don't know about you, but my skin needs a reboot! Sugar scrubs are awesome for getting rid of dead skin the natural way! Looking at main stream body scrubs, it's easy to see that the ingredient list is full of artificial fragrances and parabens, yuck!
I felt a DIY sugar scrub was such a better option when comparing products. Not to mention, I had all the ingredients in my kitchen! I made a honey lavender sugar scrub. Lavender essential oil is great for repairing skin. The raw lavender scent can be a little strong for some, but I don't mind it. Honey is naturally antibacterial and is full of antioxidents, perfect for slowing down the aging process. The moisturizing agents in honey help create a healthy glow as well.
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 Tablespoon honey
- 5 drops Lavender essential oil
I used Florida Crystals Natural Pure Cane Sugar and DoTerra Lavender Essential Oil. Any honey and olive oil works. I mixed all ingredients in a larger bowl and tranfered it to a glass mason jar. That's it. Really, it's that simple!
When my mom tried it on her hands, she was very excited at how smooth her hands were after. I use my sugar scrub in the shower over my whole body. A little goes a long way with this, so it lasts for a while. Have you ever tried a sugar scrub? Share your recipes!
